ToT Shantivanam :In order promote Swachh Vidyalaya alongside Swachh Bharat, a district level training programme was organized. Close to 80 education officials- consisting of Headmasters, Cluster Resource Persons, Mandal Education Officers and teachers- were trained. These “Master Trainers” were instructed on 6 essential Swachh Vidyalaya components: Water (quality and quantity norms), Sanitation (toilets, urinals, menstruation), Handwash, Behaviour Change Communication (how to bring change in thought), Operation and Maintenance (maintaining hardware components), Capacity Building (forming child cabinets etc). These Master Trainers are to act as resource person for their respective Mandal. The goal was capacity building of the District Master Trainers so that they could conduct Mandal level training on Swachh Vidyalaya components and reach one teacher per school.

Swachhata Hi Seva Hai event at Kakarjala, Nawabpet :Villagers in Kakarjala, Nawabpet Mandal donated their time and efforts for Swachh Mahbubnagar, Swachh Bharat. Age was no bar! A 70 year old senior village resident also too part, giving “shrammadanam” to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth Anniversary.

Waste Management Seminar :Waste management experts and sustainable living advocates from Hyderabad interacted with Nehru Yuva Kendra Youth Groups from the all over Mahbubnagar. Types of waste, the threat of plastic waste, importance of segregation of different types of garbage was discussed.
